AUTUMN SCHOOL ON SOCIAL ECONOMY AND LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

The Institute of Political Economy Karl Polanyi (Concordia University) and UNOPS Universitas Programme will hold an Autumn School on social economy and local economic development in Montreal, Quebec (Canada) from 25 to 29 October 2010

The social economy is increasingly recognized in many countries for its ability to generate wealth and create stable employment in various sectors. Quebec, a province of Canada, is recognized internationally as a leader on these issues. Professionals from many countries of the world have visited Quebec to learn about the processes underlying their success.

The Autumn School is primarily aimed at local economic development professionals, public policy makers, and researchers from Africa and Latin America who are interested in learning more about the social economy and how it can be articulated in an integrated regional strategy for social and economic development.
