THE IDEASS INNOVATIONS ARE DISSEMINATED AT THE GLOBAL SOUTH-SOUTH DEVELOPMENT EXPO 2010
The International Labour Organization (ILO) is disseminating the IDEASS innovations brochures during the Global South-South Development (GSSD) Expo 2010, which takes place in Geneva from 22 to 26 November 2010. The Event, organized with more than 20 U.N. agencies and partners, is aimed at spotlighting, showcasing and promoting innovative solutions to poverty challenges that have been developed by developing countries themselves.
The showcased IDEASS innovations, developed in Colombia, Cuba, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Mozambique, cover the different fields of action and are related with the thematic areas of GSSD 2010, which are: Social Protection and Decent Work; Food Security; Climate Change & Environment; Health; Education.
The 2010 edition of GSSD Expo will be attended by High-Level participants including: Juan Somavia, ILO Director-General; Michele Bachelet, UN Women Executive Director and former president of Chile; Margaret Chan, WHO Director-General; Supachai Panitchpakdi, UNCTAD Secretary-General; Abdoulie Janneh, UN Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa and Getachew Engida, UNESCO Deputy Director-General.
