In June 2011, the editorial board of the Universitas Forum reviewplans to publish a thematic issue on “integrating complementary and traditional medicine in public health systems”, following from the debate raised at the International workshop “Innovation and development in health: Integration of complementary and traditional medicine in public health systems”, held in Florence in 2008 and organized by IDEASS on the 30th anniversary of the Declaration of Alma Ata. The issue will contain theoretical contributions, case studies, practical and educational tools from all continents related to the integration of complementary and traditional medicine into public health systems and to the networking and articulation among different knowledge systems that this requires.
