ParaguayIDEASS participated in the 4th Latinamerican Congress on Traditional and Natural Medicine, which took place in Asuncion, Paraguay in November 2007. Representing IDEASS in the event was Dr.Martha Perez Viñas, from the Centre for Natural and Traditional Medicine of La Habana, Cuba. The objectives of the event have been, among others, to provoque an inter-exchange of information and knowledge about the present state of traditional and natural medical disciplines in the countries of the region, in order to put the basis for the inclusion of the different national structures into a regional Latinamerican dimension. An important achievement from IDEASS perspective, has been the expressed intention to work towards the integration of natural and traditional disciplines into national health systems and, to achieve that, the creation of a Regional Working Group among the participating countries, with the task to work on the issue with a regional Latinamerican perspective.
